Invisalign is it Right for You?

A computer with three dimensional imaging technology will be used to create a series of measurements for the plastic aligners that are custom fitted to your teeth and mouth. These measurements will be sent to an outside lab where eighteen to thirty aligners will be manufactured. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and the dentist will check that they are straightening the teeth properly during regularly scheduled visits. The aligners must be worn for at least twenty hours a day and only removed for meals and to brush and floss the teeth. The aligners function like traditional braces to shift and straighten the teeth in small increments over time. The main benefit to Invisalign is cosmetic in that they are virtually undetectable. Invisalign is a very popular orthodontic treatment for adults due to cosmetic benefits, but can also be used to treat younger patients.
